Orange Seeds Montessori partnered with Harbour Hills Construction to transform a historic Hamilton church into a modern 6,300 sq. ft. Montessori school. The renovation required a thoughtful balance between adapting the existing building for a new use and creating a safe, functional learning environment designed around the needs of young children.

The completed space features bright, open classrooms with extensive custom millwork, child-scaled cabinetry and learning areas, durable flooring, and large interior glazing that maintains visibility between classrooms and common spaces. Natural wood elements, playful architectural details, and integrated acoustic treatments create a warm and welcoming environment throughout.

The project included upgrades to lighting, ventilation, mechanical systems, and life-safety infrastructure, along with new partitions, glazing, millwork, and finishes required to support the building’s transition from a church to an educational facility. Careful coordination ensured the renovated space met the functional and safety requirements of its new use while working within the existing structure.
